Marcel Giroux

Hi!  I am glad to hear you are interested in Foundations of Technology!

First, a little about me.  I worked for over 30 years as a mason in the famaily buisiness which I inherited from my father.  Finally, I handed it over to my son, who runs it now, and began teaching at region 10.  For many years I worked as the Building Trades teacher.  But, when we began the Foundations program I thought it would be an exciting new challenge.

So what is Foundations?  Foundations is an exploratory course open to all Freshmen and Sophomores.  It gives an introducation to all of the courses here.  In addition to having ongoing projects with me in our classroom, students rotate through each course and explore it for several weeks and learn some basic skills.  It is a great way to find out a little about everything before you commit to one course.  Foundations also offers both English and Social Studies with Mrs. Enriquez to ensure that students are earning their needed credits towards graduation.  It’s an interesting class and I enjoy teaching it because every day is different!

I hope you consider joining us!  You can email me if you have any questions!
