Destroyers open season with a win

BATH — The Bath Middle School softball team recently opened its season with a 20-1 victory over Greely.

The Destroyer offense was powered by Gabby Walker (double, two singles, seven RBIs) and Kaylee Creamer (triple, single, four RBIs). In all, 12 Bath players contributed to the scoring.

Mt. Ararat 8th softball victorious

LEWISTON — On Friday the Mt. Ararat Middle School eighth-grade softball team faced Lewiston and came away with a 12-4 win.

Gabby West (three innings) and Megan Reed (four) shared pitching duties and combined to throw a nohitter. West struck out three, with no walks and no runs. Reed struck out eight and walked five.

Eagles score 5 in first, hold on

TOPSHAM — The Mt. Ararat High School jayvee baseball team scored five runs in the opening frame and held on for a 6-5 win over Lewiston on Friday.

James Singleton doubled and singled, Holden Brennan tripled, Trey Booty had a double, with Eli Ouellette, Cody Holman, Mason Brigham and Dan Pratt adding a single each.

Ouellette and Holman combined on the mound.

Mt. Ararat 7th softball gets win

TOPSHAM — The Mt. Ararat Middle School seventh grade softball team picked up its first win of the season Friday at home against Lewiston, 11-1.

The Eagles scored throughout the game, with a a five-run fifth ending the game via the mercy rule.

Reagan Robertson pitched well for the Eagles, striking out 10 while issuing two walks.

Lewiston 7th baseball edges Eagles, 10-7

TOPSHAM— The Mt. Ararat Middle School seventh grade baseball team dropped a close 10-7 decision to Lewiston on Friday.

Tied 7-7 in the final frame, Lewiston’s Cooper St. Hilare doubled to deep left field to knock in the winning runs. Mike Dymkey led the Blue Devil offense with three hits.

Struggling Sea Dogs swept

HARTFORD, Conn.

The Hartford Yard Goats (17-12) scored 10 runs over three innings and never looked back, completing a four-game Eastern League sweep of the Portland Sea Dogs (7-18), 12-4, on Sunday afternoon at Dunkin’ Donuts Park.

Righty Jesus Tinoco (4-2) beat the Sea Dogs for the second time this season, working six innings on six hits, four runs and seven strikeouts.

The Lisbon High School baseball team pulled away for a 7-1 Mountain Valley Conference win over Telstar on Friday to remain undefeated.

The Greyhounds improved to 5-0 and host Wiscasset today at 4 p.m.

Lisbon scored single runs in the first, second and third innings before a four-run seventh put the Rebels away.
