Freeport Community Library featuring illustrator’s work

Freeport Community Library will highlight the digital paintings and illustrations of Zach Cunningham in a January 2018 art exhibit.

Cunningham, who sometimes works under the anagram moniker Chaz the Bug, is an illustrator, comics artist and graphic designer living in Portland, Maine. His lines are bold, bulbous, erratic, sharp.

Lightning top Senators in a shootout

Brayden Point and Steven Stamkos scored in the shootout, lifting the Tampa Bay Lightning to a 4-3 victory over the Ottawa Senators on Thursday night.

The Lightning threatened to win on a power play at the end of overtime, but Nikita Kucherov’s shot past Craig Anderson was launched a split-second after the buzzer.

No. 2 Michigan State rolls

Brunswick 8th girls roll past Lewiston

BRUNSWICK — The Brunswick Junior High School eighth-grade girls basketball team defeated Lewiston, 39-14, on Wednesday.

The Huskies played solid defense throughout, led by 10 rebounds from Abby Sharpe, along with strong play from Mia Desantis and Bri Lemont, which held Lewiston to one point in the first quarter and six in the first half.
