Mt. Ararat JV FH picks up ‘W’

HAMPDEN — Gabby Mason scored two goals and dished out assist to lead the Mt. Ararat High School jayvee field hockey team to a 3-0 victory over Hampden Academy on Thursday.

Gracie Morrell scored the other Eagles goal.

In net, Emma Lapreziosa and Bailey Rioux combined on the shutout.

Lisbon High School boys soccer coach Dan Sylvester preached to his team the importance of the start of Friday’s Mountain Valley Conference home match with Wiscasset. Then he watched his team deliver.

The Greyhounds darted out to a 5-0 halftime lead and didn’t look back, rolling to a 7-0 win and a 4-0-1 mark to start the season.

Shipbuilders clip Yarmouth

YARMOUTH

The Morse Shipbuilders broke an 8-8 deadlock, scoring 20 unanswered points and cruising to a 28-8 victory in Class C South high school football Friday night.

Not only did the offense find it’s rhythm as the game progressed, but the defense also raised its game, allowing just 35 yards in the second half.

Morse now stands at 2-1, while Yarmouth falls to 0-3.
