Police issue a warning about spoiled turkeys

FALMOUTH (AP) — The police department in Falmouth, Maine, is warning residents to steer clear of black market Butterballs.

The police department reports a Hannaford supermarket had to discard frozen turkeys that thawed out because of a mechanical failure.

Police say the problem is that someone collected them from a trash bin with the idea of redistributing them.

Woolwich dedicates fire truck to veteran firefighter

WOOLWICH

A large crowd of firefighters in dress uniforms and residents filled the Woolwich fire station Sunday afternoon for the dedication of the town’s new engine.

Following a blessing for the new truck, Woolwich Fire Chief Michael Demers called Capt. Larry Albert up from the crowd in attendance, much to the firefighter’s surprise.

Authorities continue searching for West Bath man

A coordinated search for a West Bath man missing since Sunday was expected to resume this morning.

Edward “Ted” Berrett, 70, was last seen Friday at 7 p.m. near his home on Beaver Brook Road. Because he lives alone, he was not reported missing until midday Sunday, when family discovered he was not home and called police.

Former Selectwoman Theresa Turgeon has been working since the start of October to make the dinner possible. The dinner had been started by beloved Bowdoinham resident Ann Davis, the town’s former EMS director, who died unexpectedly on July 1.
