BATH — The Basic Players are putting on a weekend of entertainment with performances Friday at 7 p.m., Saturday at 7 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m.
Each performance will feature two one-act plays separated with an intermission. Mike Rowe is directing.
WISCASSET — Conductor Linda Blanchard and pianist Sean Fleming, a married musical duo, have been collaborating in creating choral music in Midcoast Maine for more than 20 years, leading Sheepscot Valley Chorus, St. Cecilia Chamber Choir, and St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church Choirs.
Both choirs and the chorus are looking for new singers.

Sagadahoc Sheriff's Office wants help finding a suspect responsible for a rash of daytime burglaries reported Thursday.
The sheriff ’s office announced on Facebook the burglaries occurred between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m.
Two burglaries occured on West Road, one on Wood Schoolhouse Road and one on Meadow Road. Jewelry and cash were stolen.
A Richmond house was badly damaged in a Thursday morning fire that displaced a family and killed two dogs.
The fire, reported at 532 Beedle Road just before 8 a.m., began in the kitchen and had spread to the living room by the time the homeowner arrived and reported it.
BRUNSWICK — At First Parish Church of Brunswick on Sept. 23 at 7 p.m., the Rev. Betty Stookey and Noel Paul Stookey will share “One Light, Many Candles,” a program of readings and music about faith.
The performance will be in First Parish’s sanctuary as part of their “300 Years on The Way” celebration of the church’s 300th anniversary.
BATH — Tri-County Literacy is launching Read Together, a new pilot program providing free tutoring to children in the Bath/Brunswick/Topsham area. Read Together is designed for families who want their children, ages 7-11, to have more one-on-one, after school support learning to read but cannot afford a private tutor.
Bowdoin College is investigating messages found in a campus building which included a swastika and homophobic language. Dean of Student Affairs Tim Foster notified students and employees on Aug. 31, two days after the graffiti was found.

TOPSHAM — Community Spay-Neuter Clinic of Topsham is asking residents of Androscoggin, Kennebec, Cumberland, Sagadahoc, Lincoln and Oxford counties who are feeding, or have knowledge of unowned, or “Community Cats” (barn, feral, stray) to schedule spay-neuter and vaccination against rabies. This service is free.
