More than 100 young students of The Ballet School of Topsham will take to the stage at the Orion Performing Arts Center in Topsham to perform the ballet “Cinderella” Saturday and Sunday.

It’s a lot to coordinate, according to director Elizabeth Drucker.

Bowdoin men’s lax earns honors

BRUNSWICK — Three members of the Bowdoin College men’s lacrosse team were honored in All-NESCAC awards handed out on Thursday.

Seniors Matthew Crowell and Parker Sessions were named as First Team selections, while junior Sam Carlin was named as a Second Team selection.

Mt. Ararat 8th baseball rolls

TOPSHAM — The Mt. Ararat Middle School eighthgrade baseball team played its first home game of the season Wednesday, rolling to a 19-8 victory over Auburn.

The game started with Auburn scoring first in the top of the opening frame, but the Mt. Ararat bats came alive, answering with four runs in the bottom of the first.

Seniors Hannah Hirschfeld and Grace DeWald were joined by first-year Eliza Denious on the NESCAC Second Team.

Mt. Ararat 7th baseball earns win

AUBURN — The Mt. Ararat Middle School seventh grade baseball team edged Auburn, 9-8, on Wednesday.

The Eagle bats exploded for 12 hits, led by leadoff hitter Parker Bate’s, who had four hits. Lucas Holman had a long home run in the third inning along with another hit. Luke Spooner and Brady Merrill each were repeat hitters.

Paige Laverriere scored five goals to power Biddeford to a 15-2 girls high school lacrosse girls victory over Brunswick on Thursday.

The Dragons are 2-2 after the setback and visit Portland on Monday at 5:30 p.m. The Tigers improved to 3-1.

Laverriere added an assist, while Hailey Allen, Megan Mourmouras and Abby Allen chipped in two goals apiece.

TOPSHAM — The Mt. Ararat Middle School softball team went run for run with Auburn in a 13-12 victory on Wednesday.

The Eagles came out swinging and ended with every player putting the ball in play. Mt. Ararat had 14 hits to Auburn’s eight. Megan Reed and Emily Bontatibus led the attack with three hits apiece. Both had two singles and a double.
