The Brunswick High School field hockey team ended a five-game losing streak with a 4-1 victory over Hampden Academy in Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference action on Monday.

The Dragons improved to 3- 6 and visits Camden Hills on Thursday at 4 p.m.

Mt. Ararat JV boys soccer win

SOUTH PARIS — The Mt. Ararat High School boys jayvee soccer team improved to 3-1-1 with a 3-2 victory over Oxford Hills recently in a hard-fought battle.

Marcus Steinman opened the scoring with an unassisted goal. Jace Hollenbach followed with a score off an assist from Jacob Sargent. Thomas Davison assisted Trevor Brown with the team’s final tally.

TOPSHAM — The Mt. Ararat Middle School girls soccer team played its first home game of the season on Monday against Oxford Hills, 2-0.

On a hot and humid day, the Eagles dominated most of the game with strong play in the back by Olivia Cox, Jillian Truden, Shelby Myrick, Fern Beede and Jayden Austin.
