Austin Baltazar rushed for 221 yards and two touchdowns as the Morse High School football team rolled to a 56-14 Class C South victory over Belfast on Friday.

The Shipbuilders improved to 4-1 and host Freeport this upcoming Friday night for Military Appreciation Night at 7 p.m. The host Lions are 0-5.

Festival of Champions held at Troy Howard

Cross country runners throughout Maine and New England descended on Troy Howard Middle School on Saturday for the annual Festival of Champions.

In the girls competition, Glastonbury High School was the top team with 115 points, followed by Camden Hills (228 points), Cumberland (240), East Greenwich (278) and Yarmouth (284).

ECHL team has familiar name

The long-awaited team name was revealed at the Boys and Girls Club of Southern Maine in downtown Portland.

Philadelphia Flyers President, Paul Holmgren, announced that the name Maine Mariners will return to the ice in October 2018.
