Another threat of violence at Mt. Ararat High School this time has resulted in an arrest.

Topsham police say they have arrested Jonas Cloukey, 19, of Bowdoinham, on Monday, after investigating an alleged threat via social media.

Lisbon students urged to remain in building, rather than walk out

Lisbon Superintendent Richard Green is asking students to stay in the building during a proposed walkout next week.

Part of a planned national demonstration on March 14, the purpose is to call on members of Congress to enact stricter gun laws. Locally, school districts in the Midcoast are preparing for the likelihood of students leaving class.

Bowdoinham man arrested in connection with MTA threat

Topsham police Monday investigated another threat via social media involving Mt. Ararat High School, this time arresting a 19-year-old Bowdoinham man and seizing weapons.

According to a press release, Topsham police were notified Monday of the impending threat which was posted using a social media outlet identified as Discord.

The Middlebury College women’s hockey team scored in the final five minutes to end Bowdoin’s season in a 2-1 NESCAC semifinal on Saturday afternoon.

The Polar Bears concluded the 2017-18 season with a 13-9-3 overall record, advancing to the semifinal for the second consecutive year.
