Trade shows Pats have faith in Brady

When Patriots owner Robert Kraft was asked earlier this year how long he thought Tom Brady could continue to play quarterback in the NFL, Kraft said he could envision Brady playing into his 50s.

It was a prediction that even Brady chuckled at after celebrating his 40th birthday in August.

Texans QB Watson out for season with ACL tear

HOUSTON

Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson sustained a season-ending knee injury in practice on Thursday, two people familiar with the situation told The Associated Press.

The rookie suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament in one of his knees and will go on injured reserve. The people spoke on the condition of anonymity because the team hadn’t announced the injury.

Football, state soccer on tap

As the fall high school sports season nears its conclusion, this weekend features state soccer championships, along with semifinal football games throughout the state.

A big change has come about in the state soccer schedule. The Class A and Class C championships have switched venues, while the Class B slate has been moved to later in the day on Saturday.

Man pleads guilty to selling misbranded horse drugs

PORTLAND (AP) — A New York man has pleaded guilty to introducing misbranded animal drugs into interstate commerce.

Prosecutors say 55-year-old Alain Lamontagne, of Middletown, New York, pleaded guilty on Wednesday in federal court. Court documents say he operated a business in New York that sold dietary supplements, intravenous drugs and other supplies for horses.

Report: Anti-Semitic incidents increase

The New York civil rights group that’s focused on anti- Jewish attacks said in a report Thursday there have been 132 incidents recorded in the region from Jan. 1 through Sept. 30.
