Curtis Coming Back Better than Ever

January started out with a bang at Curtis Library — literally. After three weeks of freezing weather, a pipe leading to one of the library’s sprinklers froze and broke. The result was a cascade of water flowing down the walls and out of the ceiling in the library’s west entrance for 10 minutes until the pipe was shut down.

CMP tree trimming starts in Freeport

Four players scored double-digit points as the Brunswick High School girls basketball team downed Morse, 59-34 in Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference action.

Brunswick improved to 12- 0, while Morse slips to 2-11.

The Dragons (12-0) jumped out to a 14-8 lead after one quarter behind Marley Groat’s eight points and Sabrina Armstrong’s two treys.
