Council workshop with rail officials seeks solutions to horn, fume issues

Slippery road conditions blamed for 6-vehicle crash

The Sagadahoc County Sheriff ’s Office responded to a six-vehicle crash on Route 1 early Tuesday morning that was spurred by slippery road conditions.

The crash was reported southbound near the West Bath exit at 12:08 a.m., according to Lt. Brian Quinn.

Efforts aim to limit the spread of fire ants

Imported fire ants are unwelcome guests here, and careless plant shipping helps them spread.

A colony was discovered this spring in palm trees sent from Florida to Delaware, a state where the stinging insects have not yet become established.
