Maine man bound over for trial in shooting death

MINNEAPOLIS, Kan. (AP) — A Maine man will be tried for murder in the shooting death of a Kansas man in August.

Robert Colson, of Bucksport, Maine, was bound over for trial Monday after a preliminary hearing into the death of Matthew Schoshke at his home in Tescott, about 25 miles northwest of Salina.

Maine GOP director didn't pay state income taxes

Maine Revenue Services has placed a pair of tax liens totaling about $11,300 against Jason Savage for not paying income taxes in 2013 or 2014.

Maine high school teacher charged with sexual assault

GARDINER (AP) — Maine police say a high school science teacher has been arrested on suspicion of sexually assaulting a 16-year-old girl.

Authorities say 43-year-old John Glowa Jr., of Readfield, was arrested Tuesday and charged with two counts of gross sexual assault and one of furnishing liquor to a minor.

UMaine System looks to demolish 3 percent of its space

ORONO (AP) — The University of Maine System's Board of Trustees has approved a preliminary plan to demolish about 3 percent of the system's physical space.

The system says it will knock down as much as 300,000 square feet of space. The demolition project will target "vacant, underutilized or poor condition space" and will take place statewide.
