Mt. Ararat scores early in victory

BATH — The Mt. Ararat High School jayvee baseball team scored 10 runs in the first inning en route to an 18-4 win over Morse recently.

James Singleton led the attack with two singles and a double. Trey Booty doubled twice, Colby Clack had two singles, Cody Holman singled and doubled, and Holden Brennor doubled.

TOPSHAM — The Morse High School jayvee girls lacrosse team defeated rival Mt. Ararat in a low-scoring affair, 5-3, recently.

The Shipbuilders (1-0) led 3-1 at the half.

Abby Sreden and Sophie Wilson shared the goaltending duties for Morse. Kylie Grendell tallied two goals, while Abby Marston, Zoe Sreden (from Veronica Prager) and Grace Bingham added a goal each.
