Juvenile corrections facility names chief

The head of a Mainebased youth treatment nonprofit, Caroline Raymond, is set to begin as superintendent at Long Creek Youth Development Center in South Portland in October.

Three American Indian tribes getting $80,000

AUGUSTA (AP) — The National Park Service is providing more than $80,000 to Maine’s American Indian tribes to help with historic preservation.

The federal Department of the Interior says the money will go to three Tribal Historic Preservation Offices in the state. It’s part of $25.5 million that’s going to states and tribes around the country.

Man with clown mask calls it a prank

BIDDEFORD (AP) — A one-armed Maine man accused of startling neighbors by going for a stroll wearing a clown mask and brandishing a machete says it was supposed to be a prank.

Hollis resident Corey Berry, 31, pleaded not guilty Wednesday to criminal threatening and weapons charges.

BRUNSWICK — Our precious sister, Dorine Carla Rowell, passed away peacefully at her home in Brunswick on Friday August 18, 2017.

She was born Dorine Carla Erlebach on June 25, 1950, along with her twin sister Pauline, to Carl and Emily Erlebach of Bath.

"Doll" grew up in Bath and attended Bath schools. She remained friends with several of her classmates over the years.
