N. Yarmouth victim killed in I-295 collision identified

FALMOUTH

Police have identified the man killed Tuesday night in a two-car crash on Interstate 295 in Falmouth.

State police say Joshua Martin, 36, of North Yarmouth was killed when his 2005 PT Cruiser was struck from behind by a 2007 Volvo Cross Country driven by a 17-year-old girl from West Bath.

Judge rescinds impoundment order in quadruple slaying

AYER, Mass. (AP) — A judge has ruled that some court records in the case of a Maine man charged with killing his mother, grandparents and their caretaker in a Massachusetts home will be made public.

Judge Margaret Guzman impounded the records after Orion Krause, of Rockport, Maine was arraigned on Sept. 11 in the Sept. 8 killings in Groton.

THOMASTON (AP) — Maine police are investigating two possible attempted abductions in Knox County.

Thomaston school officials say a middle school student was riding his bike in Thomaston when a van stopped Wednesday night and an older man asked him to get inside. The boy refused and told adults what happened.

Topsham home damaged by fire

A Topsham man came home to find the house he was renting on fire Wednesday.

Topsham Fire Lt. Travis Gibson said the tenant came home to 248 Foreside Road and found smoke detectors sounding and smoke coming from the windows. Inside, the tenant found a child’s bedroom full of smoke.

Testing finds no PFC health risk

BRUNSWICK

Recent testing of residential wells to the north of Brunswick Landing showed that a contaminant known as PFC hasn’t impacted the water.

The base Restoration Advisory Board will meet today at 4:30 p.m. at Best Western Plus at 71 Gurnet Road, where there will be an update on the PFC testing.

The Sea Dogs will open the 2018 season on the road against the Binghamton Rumble Ponies on April 5. The home opener at Hadlock Field is scheduled for April 13 at 6 p.m. against Binghamton.
