Library Council launching ‘Living within Limits’ environmental poster contest

Patten Free Library’s Teen Library Council is partnering with the Brunswick-based conservation organization Manomet to launch an environmental poster contest focusing on sustainability. Any student in grades 7-12 residing in the library service area or attending schools in Regional School Unit 1 may participate. The council will accept submissions through June 1.

Long-term parking on Union Street will stay at $2 per day — for now.

Brunswick councilors adopted a fee increase to $5 last August, but reduced it back to $2 following public outcry. It was slated to change to $5 on May 1, but debate at a recent meeting halted the change again, opting for further discussion at this week’s meeting.

Security upgrade coming to school
