Bates falls to Colby tennis

WATERVILLE — Colby clawed its way to a 6-3 NESCAC victory over the Bates College women’s tennis team on Tuesday, with all six singles matches hotly contested.

Bates (9-8, 3-4 NESCAC) concludes the regular season at home today against its other Maine NESCAC rival, Bowdoin, starting at 4 p.m.

However, the Mt. Ararat and Oak Hill boys lacrosse teams faced off in the rain, with the visiting Eagles coming away with an 8-6 win over the Raiders.

Mt. Ararat improved to 3-0 and visits Marshwood on Saturday at 10 a.m.

Group 1 divisions took to the track Saturday afternoon at Wiscasset Speedway with a little over 1,200 racing enthusiast huddled in for a day of fun.
