Man ordered held on $100K bail after car wash shooting

PORTLAND (AP) — A man who faces an attempted murder charge following a shooting at a car wash in Maine is being held on $100,000 bail.

The Portland Press Herald reports that Abdul Rahman Timbo of Virginia made his initial appearance in court on Tuesday, two days after the shooting.

School employee certification database delayed until October

PORTLAND (AP) — Maine officials say the release of a new online database that shows whether a school employee passed a criminal background check has been delayed.

The Portland Press Herald reports the system was scheduled to launch July 1. Now, officials say the system will not be fully functional until mid-October.

BRUNSWICK — Ernest A. Thibeault, 84, formerly of Topsham died on Friday, September 1, 2017 at Coastal Shores in Brunswick. He was born June 25, 1933 in Brunswick, Maine, the son of Alfred M. and Delia Bernier Thibeault.

Ernest served in the Army and was a Korean War Veteran. He worked at the US Gypsum Mill for over 30 years. After retirement he worked at Shaws.
