The New Hampshire Fisher Cats (59-80) were powered by four home runs and defeated the Portland Sea Dogs (65-74),11-4 in the 2017 Eastern League season finale on Labor Day at Hadlock Field.

The Sea Dogs completed the 2017 season in fourth place in the Eastern Division, while New Hampshire wound up in sixth.

GORHAM — Sophomore Maddison Egan scored in the 83rd minute to break a 1-1 tie, delivering a 2-1 season-opening win for the University of Southern Maine Huskies over the Thomas College Terriers Friday afternoon at Hannaford Field.

Southern Maine leads the 16-game series between the two schools 13-1-2.

USM outshot the Terriers, 14-2, and had a 4-2 lead in corner kicks.
