Mom who drank on night of baby’s death to be sentenced

BELFAST (AP) — A Maine woman who told jurors that she drank multiple shots of liquor and smoked marijuana the night of her infant son’s death is due to be sentenced this week.

Thirty-two-year-old Miranda Hopkins will appear in court on Wednesday in Belfast.

Man who led cops on long manhunt to be sentenced for murder

BANGOR (AP) — A Maine man who killed his ex-girlfriend before leading police on the longest manhunt in state history is due to be sentenced this week.

The sentencing hearing for Robert Burton is scheduled for Friday.

He was convicted in October.

Topsham crash sends 3 to hospital

Three passengers in a sport utility vehicle were transported to a Lewiston hospital after the vehicle rolled over along Route 196 in Topsham early Friday morning.

The crash was reported at 1:20 a.m. near Harpswell Auto Sales, a short distance from the Lisbon town line.
