BRUNSWICK — Janet Dionne Brand died at her home from a hereditary, slowly debilitating, disease at age 75. Born in Brunswick, Maine, daughter of Arthur J. and Alberta Rand Dionne. She entered the Army as soon as she graduated from Brunswick High School. She was trained as an Operating Room Technician which became her life career.

Heavy snow spawns slick roads, crashes

Heavy snow blanketed most of Vermont, Maine and New Hampshire on Tuesday, forcing the closure of hundreds of schools and making roads slick as the vehicle crash count mounted.

Close to a foot of snow had fallen in some areas of northern New England by midafternoon, while the precipitation switched over to rain in other spots.

Police investigate discovery of man’s body in parked car

SABATTUS (AP) — Police in Maine say they found the body of a man who had been living out of his car while they were conducting a wellbeing check.

The Sun Journal reports 61-year-old Daniel Dennis was found dead in the rear seat of his parked car on Monday. A caller had requested a check after telling police that Dennis had been parked on a local street and living in his car.

Ed Lee, who oversaw a technology-driven economic boom in San Francisco that brought with it skyhigh housing prices despite his lifelong commitment to economic equality, died suddenly early Tuesday at age 65.
